Congratulations to our Senior squad and coaches who enjoyed a deserved win over University of Galway in Heffernan Park on Saturday night.
Eleven tries were scored by the men in green during a free-flowing and entertaining encounter.
Ballina led 22-7 at the interval following tries from Ronan Lawrence, Conor Boyce, Alex Hennigan and Liam Jones. Craig McCormick converted one of the tries and the home side were well-positioned as the second half began.
Things got even better for Ballina after the resumption and early tries from Gary Kavanagh and Liam Jones stretched the lead with McCormick converting one of them. The Galway men launched a comeback at that stage and closed the gap to 19-34, but that was as close as they would get to the home side.
Liam Jones raced over for his third try of the evening before Conor Boyce scored his second and Oisin Smyth Rouse powered over to make it 55-0 as Cian Anderson added three conversions.
The curtain came down on the evening when Dan Feeney powered over the try line before Conor Boyce scored his third try of the evening and Cian Anderson converted both.
