Ballina RFC mourns a truly fine man

John Rowe was at the very heart of soul of our great club. He carried it in his heart and brought a vibrancy, sense of possibility and a love of fun to Ballina Rugby Football Club.
This morning, after eight decades on this earth he passed to his eternal reward and there's a great sense of sadness over Heffernan Park tonight.
John believed that nothing was impossible; he was driven by a mighty work ethic and a powerful passion for his own community and the younger generations.
He was blessed with a deep and enduring love for his devoted wife Patricia, children Alan, Karl, Suzanne, Conor and Patrick, amazing grandchildren, his brother Michael, sisters Hilary, Pamela and Maureen, in-laws, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
John went about his business in his own quiet way and enjoyed seeing others achieving great things. His sincerity and courtesy made him hugely popular with all ages and Heffernan Park was a happier place when John Rowe was in situ.
John made a huge contribution to Ballina RFC in his own understated way. He knew everything that was happening in Heffernan Park and was a massive supporter of the progressive drive pushing the club to ever-greater heights.
His brother, Michael, was a member of the Ballina team that captured the Connacht Senior Cup in 1979 and also lined out for Connacht at senior level.
John's sons, Alan, Karl, Conor and Patrick all wore the green of Ballina at all levels and represented the club and their family with great pride.
Indeed, the Rowe family are a pivotal cog of our club at all levels on and off the pitch.
John Rowe lived a wonderful life. He made memories, which will never fade and he will be always remembered with great joy and happiness.
His likes will not pass this way again!
May he rest in peace.
