Our U-14 Boys got their first win of the season at home to Corinthians on Saturday thanks to a dogged display of teamwork from start to finish. Try number one came from Charlie Butler, followed soon afterwards by another from Josh Timoney. Close to the half-time whistle Butler made a dash for the try line, closely supported by second-row James Murphy and flanker David Baynes. Butler came up against a wall of resistance just short of the try line and passed the ball to Baynes, who passed it out to Murphy, who got it across.
The hosts led 15-0 at the half-time whistle. Corinthians fought back in the second half, scoring two tries but another try from Butler ensured that Ballina finished triumphant on a 20-10 scoreline.
